'Pangarap Hindi Panaginip' Mural Represents Youth's Call For Climate Justice


As leaders from various nations meet for the Glasgow Climate Conference, Greenpeace Philippines Youth Climate Action pay tribute to youth activists pushing for real change and calling for climate justice at COP26 by doing street murals. 

The Marikina mural is part of the multiple activism activities in six other locations in the country, namely Albay, Bacolod, Bataan, Bohol, Iriga, and Tacloban. 

The mural, titled “Pangarap Hindi Panaginip,” was brought to life by artist advocates led by AG Sano. The activity is supported by Greenpeace Philippines.

From here on, not a few people will regard December 31, 2019 as an unforgettable day not only because it marked the end of the year or even the end of this decade. The day also marked the end of an era for many baby boomers, martial law babies and even Generation X’ers.

It’s because Harrison Plaza Shopping Complex, that sprawling and familiar two-storey structure located in Malate, Manila will officially cease operations. The mall’s impending demise has been an open secret since last year when it was reported that the existing lease contract of longtime owners, the Martel family with the city government of Manila was bought out by SM Prime.

Taal Volcano Poses Another Hazardous Eruption

Taal, the second-most-active volcano in the country, emitted a plume of steam and volcanic ash following an eruption on July 1. The explosion posed a threat of another hazardous eruption prompting the evacuation of thousands of villagers away from the volcano’s danger zone.
